CALLING ALL X-RIDERS: OUR BENEFIT RIDE THIS SUNDAY!

Postby Chino » Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:43 pm

DATE: 8/4/2009

**** X-RIDERS ****

As some of you know, we are holding a ride THIS SUNDAY (Aug 9th) to support our charity - the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The ride itself will start at 11:30am, at the UAW Local 900 (38200 Michigan Avenue, directly across from the Ford plant). Times are definitely tough for a lot of people right now, there's no getting around that, but if you can, PLEASE HELP US support the kids. Hundreds of volunteer hours have been spent to plan and set up this ride, and it is our chance to really make a difference this year, when contributions are way down.

The price for the event is $35 per rider, and $15 more for a passenger. If you aren't able to ride, but would just like to come out and help us, there is a catered lunch afterwards (2pm or so?), for $15. If you're able to help set up, register folks, guide bikes for parking, etc., be there early -- we will have coffee and donuts at 8:30 or so.

PLEASE try you darndest to be there - we would like to see a GREAT showing of X-Riders. If you are a member and haven't made it to a meeting, there's no better time to c'mon out, meet the group, and contribute to a great cause. Looking forward to seeing all of you!

FLYER ATTACHED, AND HERE IS A LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION. Please vote in the poll.

Ride safe,

ATTENTION MIXRIDERS: Ride for Kids is Sunday 8/23/09!

**** X-RIDERS ****

In case you've not yet seen the post on the web site...

The event is at Washtenaw Community College, and officially starts at 10am, but we'd like as many of our members as possible to meet at Rick (Extreme) & Becky's house first, so we can all arrive at the event together, in one large group. Get to Rick's before between 8-8:45am for breakfast snacks and drinks, and then kickstands up at 9am to head to the event. Minimum donation to participate (tax-deductible) is $35, and this includes lunch and refreshments.

Please take a moment to check the post below, for all the details, and vote to record whether or not you can attend:
http://www.mixriders.com/forumX/viewtop ... =18&t=4379

This is our group's (and our charity's) most important event of the year. We hope to see all of our members there!

ATTENTION MIXRIDERS: 9/13 Meeting Now in Belleville!

Postby Chino » Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:56 pm

DATE: 9/7/2009

**** X-RIDERS ****

Just wanted to make everyone aware that there has been another change to the September meeting on 9/13... It will no longer be in Boyne City, as it seems this is not a good time (for many folks and many reasons) for a meeting so far north. The location has been moved to Belleville, out by Rick & Becky Boone's house.

Please take a moment to check the post below, for the details, and vote to record whether or not you can attend:
http://mixriders.com/forumX/viewtopic.p ... 04&start=0

Thanks!

Note:
As a new(er) practice, we will now be sending emails to all members once a month. In rare cases, it would be a couple of emails (like August, when we had the Benefit Ride and Ride for Kids), but 90% of the time it should be a single email. This helps ensure that even those who may not visit the web site regularly stay somewhat in the loop, and that all members can be alerted when plans change unexpectedly. If you no longer wish to be a member of the site, feel free to reply to this email and we can remove you. Some people have sold their VTX, relocated to another state, etc., and we understand that emails like these can be an annoyance if they no longer interest or apply to you.

**** X-RIDERS ****

In case you've not yet seen the post on the web site...

The October (10/4) meeting and Chili Cookoff take place in Plymouth (starting @ noon), but the $10 escorted ride to get there (VIP Chili Cookoff parking included) leaves from Farmington Hills at 10:30am sharp.

Please take a moment to check the post below, for all the details, and vote in the poll to record whether or not you can attend:

OTHER NOTES:
  • The MI X-Riders web site has been changed to MIXRIDERS.ORG, to reflect our charitable organization status better. For the time being, if you go to mixriders.com, it will redirect you to the new address, but the best thing would be to update your bookmarks to point to http://WWW.MIXRIDERS.ORG, as we may not retain the .com domain indefinitely.
  • As a new(er) practice, we will now be sending emails to all members once a month. In rare cases, it would be a couple of emails, but 90% of the time it should be a single email (this month there was an error, and it seems that when this message was sent out a few days ago it only went to a few members, so it is being re-sent now). This helps ensure that even those who may not visit the web site regularly stay somewhat in the loop, or that all members can be alerted when plans change unexpectedly. If you no longer wish to be a member of the site, feel free to reply to this email and we can remove you. ALSO... At the meeting, we will be collecting information for the 2009 "X" Awards, and need your help:
  • -Riders Hero... If you raised a few hundred bucks or more this year (for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation / Ride for Kids), please bring your receipt or letter that they should have just recently sent you (I got one last week, which started off "Your generous donation of $xxx on August 23, 2009..."). We're looking to confirm who raised the most, to determine the winner of this award

MI X-RIDERS: December (12/6) Meeting & Potluck Info

Postby Chino » Sun Nov 22, 2009 3:23 am

DATE: 11/22/09

**** X-RIDERS ****

Apologies in advance for the wordy note... But there are a lot of things to talk about for the December meeting...

In case you've not yet seen the post on the web site... The December (12/6) meeting (Xmas potluck) will take place in Burton. We will be doing our yearly Toys for Tots collection at this time also, so please bring an unwrapped toy if you can attend.

Please also take a moment to check the post below, for all the details, to vote in the poll to record whether or not you can attend, and to record which food item(s) you will bring (if you can make it):
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4492

ALSO... At the meeting, we will be announcing the winners for the 2009 "X" Awards!
  • X-Rider of the Year... Most significant overall contributions to the group in 2009
  • X-Riders Hero... Most money raised for our charity in 2009
  • X-Riders Iron Butt... Most miles ridden on your VTX in 2009

AND FINALLY... John will be bringing his entire inventory of X-Riders T-shirts to the meeting. We will have the remaining stash of ride/guardian bells available also (not to mention, RoRo will likely be bringing some beanie hats for any that are interested). We have had a huge shirt surplus for the past year or two, and still have a LOT of bells left, which together tie up a good deal of money. This money could be be going to our charity or into other initiatives, like paying the fees to file the paperwork so we can do the charity poker tournaments, for example, so hopefully we can turn a good number of them over! Do you need a new one, or know anyone that would like one?

The shirts and bells make great gifts or stocking stuffers! :)
